Rockets Rug for GUR

We always admired Rugs By GUR. A project by Célia Esteves that blends Portugal's traditional weaving heritage with a touch of fun and design. Every rug is made in collaboration with international artists and illustrators. The design of the Rockets rug is inspired by our Rockets print, a pattern made by drawing a lot of little stripes using wax crayons. It’s a pattern that we are very fond of, for the various colour combinations and the strong hand drawn character. For this rug GUR took these elements and transformed the crayon lines into stripes of cotton and textile, shooting in and out of a perfect creamy white cotton background.

All rugs by GUR are handmade, held in a handloom with Portuguese cotton using Zagal technique.
